What’s the purpose of the word ‘få’ in this sentence. Is ‘Kan jag se dem?’ not sufficient to ask a question?
This means “May I see them?”, “Will you let me see them?”.
That is “Am I (Will I) be able to see them?” In Swedish, we make a clearer distinction between kan and får than between English can and may.
