If I should fail again, I would give up the plan.
The Finnish sentence lacks the conditional mood of the English.

To be honest, I would translate it exactly the same to German as well.
I think there is enough condition in the “Jos”.
Edit:
And in fact, the German translation on tatoeba is the same:
“Wenn es mir noch einmal misslingt, gebe ich den Plan auf.”
Edit 2:
But then, the German sentence is a translation of the Finnish one… 
I see the sentence as a lost opportunity to practice the Finnish conditional.
