Or “enjoy” is better or “I really appreciate our friendship”.
“I appreciate you” sounds a little off in English, maybe that is why it translates awkwardly. “I appreciate“ is usually followed by something specific, like “I really appreciate the jobe you’ve done with this”, at least around here in the Midwest US.
