Pas au Québec, c’est sûr.

Fun fact: it is kind of a cute insult in France when you want to call someone stupid in a relatively friendly way.

Does that have to do with the slight resemblance to the words “pas” and “tête”?
Kalzem: I’m told that it’s an insult, because potatoes are bland, round, and the least interesting part of dinner. The only thing that’s vaguely similar is that I have heard people insult civil servants (fonctionnaires) as “Twinkies”, which is a bland, shapeless, cake sold as a snack.
English Translation
I think “potato” is the funniest word.
In Quebec, the word for potato is patate (from old french).
In France, the term for potato is “pomme de terre” (apple of the earth).
Earth apple is much funnier than patate.
