Je ferais la cuisine avec ma grand-mère chaque dimanche.

English Translation

I’d cook with my grandmother every Sunday.

Is “I’d” here to be understood as “I would …, if …” or “I used to …”?

If it is “I used to …”, wouldn’t “Je faisais la cuisine …” be correct, and “Je ferais la cuisine …” actually incorrect?

Taking the french as reference, it is indeed to be understood as “I would cook” (with the if side of the conditional missing).
But, as far as I know, “I used to” cannot be shortened to “I’d”, can it?

No, I don’t think so either, but it can be understood as meaning “I would” (“I was in the habit of”).
