I did a little search, I didn’t find another use for la pareille except in the meaning of reciprocation. Le Petit Robert had this:
N. f. (1380) rendre la pareille (à qqn) : faire subir à qqn un traitement analogue à celui qu’on a reçu. ➙ payer (de retour), RÉGION. réciproquer (cf. Œil* pour œil, dent pour dent). « Trompeurs, c’est pour vous que j’écris : Attendez-vous à la pareille » (La Fontaine).

Le pareil has a different meaning = the same (but without the nuance of reciprocation.
Maybe I like reading dictionaries a little too much. That said, I’m not sensitive, I hope anybody corrects me if I’m wrong or if this remark needs tweaked a bit.
