I can’t say why, but that’s how we say it. “rött/brunt/grått/blått/gult är min älsklingsfärg.”

One thing learning a new language does is make you appreciate how weird your own native tongue is at times. When I jokingly told my sister yesterday to “not look at me in that tone of voice” I wondered what someone learning English would make of that.
