It’s fascinating to me how archaic this word has become in such a short period of time. I’m 40 and when I was a kid, people still had typewriters everywhere; they had them at school and although I was taught to type on a computer, there were still a few remnant typewriters in the back of the room and apparently just a few years back they had taught typing on typewriters. About 20 years ago older people sometimes still had one in their office. Now they’re pretty much nowhere to be found except at garage sales or in an old person’s attic or basement.
