I can kind of see how “ingen” could mean neither, in this context. Is this how it would always be phrased?

To be more precise, you could use “ingendera”, but it sounds formal. Alternatively, you could say “varken hon eller jag vill gifta sig”.

Varken was my preferred option. Not sure I would remember to use Ingen in this context.
