Il denaro è un grande fratello: non si può vivere né con esso né senza di esso.

English Translation

Money is a big bother: you can live neither with it nor without it.

What?

Either it is “brother” in English or “fastidio” (?) In Italian?
Does anyone know the saying? Which one do I report as a mistake?

Most odd. Big Brother is something else entirely so I imagine this should be Bother and not brother. It’s not a phrase I’ve heard too often though. Cheers!

The original sentence on tatoeba is the English one: so bother is the original meaning and it should have been translated to fastidio indeed…
