What does fällen do for this sentence? i.e., if removed, how would the sentence change?
“Entscheidung” and “fällen” go together, i.e. “fällen” is the verb that is normally used for “Entscheidungen”.
It’s like in english: you “pay your respects” instead of “give respects” or something.
I think it’s called a collocation, when a verb and a noun belong together.
if removed, how would the sentence change?
There would be a verb missing.

Luckily, when I clicked on the sidebar for “fällen” it provided this association. I rely more and more on these discussions to make up for the absence of grammar and usage tips. So, danke sehr for participating pitti.

But you could also say “Ich kann jetzt keine Entscheidung darüber treffen”, couldn’t you?
