Maybe I’m nitpicking, but I think “Ich habe noch nie die Gelegenheit gehabt, es zu benutzen” would more closely match the suggested English sentence. The German answer here seems more like “I never had the occasion to use it”. I know they mean the same thing, but the grammar is slightly different.
