Is this sentence correct? I thought that the verb “siegen” cannot take a direct object, and if you wanted to say you won against someone, you have to either use “besiegen” or maybe “über jdn siegen”.
You’re right. This looks like a typo. It should be “besiegt”, not “gesiegt”.
