“einfach nur” - typical German. Never use one word when you can get away with two!
You can have this sentence with only one of these words, true enough.
However, you change the meaning slightly.
Ich brauche nur Zeit zum Nachdenken = I need only time to think (nothing else)
Ich brauche einfach Zeit zum Nachdenken = I simply need time to think (it is as simple as that)
Man braucht einfach nur ein bisschen Übung, um sich daran zu gewöhnen.
