English Translation
She had several reasons for leaving.
I read it somewhere once that “lämna” can’t be used on its own as a verb. Can someone clarify please?

Traditionally, “lämna” is only a transitive verb: “att lämna något hemma”, “att lämna barnen på dagis”. To translate the English intransitive “leave”, you would use “avresa”, “ge sig iväg”, “resa bort”, etc. Nowadays you will often see “lämna” in this intransitive meaning, probably as an influence from the English. It doesn’t feel natural for many Swedes, though.
