I’m loving the new design on clozemaster mobile! I also love how convenient the Hard and Easy buttons are as well, some words for me I want to see more often than others without changing interval settings. Is there a way I can do this on the web version? Or will the web be getting a redesign as well?
Very good but i think there is a bug on the calculation of days for next review.
For example:
if i have “next review 20 days” and i select the button “Easy 40d” the next review will be in 60 days instead of 40 days
That’s true I did notive that too. I had stopped using it and simply changed my intervals.
Thanks for letting us know!
This should now be fixed in 2.11.4. Please let us know of course if not or there’s anything else we can do to help.
Now it is ok, many thanks for support
I am also enjoying the new design, and I would like to make sure I am understanding it correctly. Does it impact the % mastered level if you press either of these buttons? For example. if I answer correctly a 50% mastered sentence, it is now 75% mastered regardless of whether I press Hard or Easy button?
Assuming that’s the case, that means the sentences for which you continue to press easy button at every stage will be mastered a lot more slowly and vice versa. I can’t explain why, but it feels counterintuitive to me. This is not a complaint, just want to confirm that % mastered is not affected.
Your feeling stems from two different/conflicting definitions of mastery:
- To you, mastery is achieved when you can recall the word easily.
- To Clozemaster, mastery is achieved when the word has been recalled correctly four times in a row.

I can’t say anything to your main point, since I use Clozemaster only in the web browser. There, I don’t see Hard and Easy buttons for words with less than 100%.
You nailed it - if it is “easy” for me, then I should be able to call it “mastered” more quickly. I guess by marking it easy, it gets out of the way and makes room for me to learn other words before it appears again for the next recall test. Thank you for articulating the internal conflict!
I went back to a sentence afterwards to check the % mastered and I can confirm that it is not affected regardless of hard/easy button.
Btw, I am a big proponent of step up or step down buttons idea from the second thread you suggested. I often find that I am not ready to go to 75% or 100%. Being able to stay with one click would be handy.
I must say, the more I’ve been using Clozemaster, the less do the 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 percentages make sense; for me it’s all about being able to recall a cloze after more or less time. So I use the percentages and the Hard, Easy and Normal buttons to tune as finely as possible the next time for review. It’s very crude, but it’s the best solution I can think of, given the current lack of better tools for review-date management.
Full disclosure: I don’t the use the app for reviews, only the browser interface, even on mobile. In the browser, I tack “&nextReviewControlsEnabled=true” to the URL, to get the Hard and Easy buttons for every percentage. I’m adjusting my review intervals to avoid overlap between different combinations of percentage and grading, but I’m still looking for the optimum setup.
