Hai qualche prova per il mistero?

English Original Sentence

Do you have any clue to the mystery?

Is prova not proof, rather than clue? How about indizio?

Yes, “indizio” is a better translation.

I would say “Hai una spiegazione del mistero?”
I think “prova” is wrong. “Prova” also means “rehearsal” and “test” so it sounds confusing to me in such a sentence.

I think the intended meaning is “a clue to solve the mystery”, and for that purpose maybe pista could work?

Ciao. I thought prova could mean proof, evidence as to the mystery etc - it seems to depend on context, as usual.
