I hear friend Giorgio saying “guàrdati” here and think it should be “guardàti”. Cosa ne pensi?

I thought the same as you but the pronunciation on Forvo indicates that first syllable is correct. I might be overgeneralizing, but I think when you add a pronoun to the end of a verb, you still accent the next to last syllable of the verb itself. Another example would be “aiutami.”

Ah yes, that’s interesting. Yes, I see your point now, particularly with “aiutami” and may have to say “mi sbagliavo” to Giorgio;-)

…or “scusami” for a variation on the theme. :grinning:

I like it - imagine saying “scusàmi”! Mamma mia, we just wouldn’t

As others have said, in this case “guàrdati” is right. It is “guarda-ti”, “watch for yourself”.

“Guardàti” would be the past participle of “guardare”, “watched”, masculine, plural.
