I can’t help thinking “Figurati” sounds a bit strange, so I prefer “Non c’è di che”, and then I don’t have to worry about formal/informal.

Try “Figùrati!” occasionally, great little word:-) Used a lot at “school” in Venice.

They are both used.
“Figurati” is more informal, or “si figuri” more formal.
