Is the ställa necessary here - or would just “fråga till” suffice ? Får jag frågor till Tom? seems to represent something like “can I have questions for Tom” - which is fairly close in meaning. Just trying to grasp the importance of doubling up on the asking of the question by adding another verb (ställa - to put). Tack
It’s either this or “Får jag fråga Tom?”, which is less formal. Ställa frågor till någon is a set expression.
