Et nyt ymmärtänyt minua!

English Translation

You are getting me wrong!

The Finnish verb here is the past participle, but the English translation uses a present participle. Is this because of the “nyt”?

I realize that a literal translation would be really unidiomatic here, so I’m not asking for that. That being said, if we’re going for more idiomatic translations, wouldn’t “You’ve misunderstood me” be a better fit?
