Is this idiomatic? Confused about the use of langsam here. Looking at wiktionary it just describes ‘langsam’ as slow or slowly.

I think the “langsam” is hiding in the english “about”.
The “langsam” conveys something like “I was (slowly) starting to get impatient”.
