Yes, “für uns geben” would sound more natural.
But I don’t think noone would say that. I can imagine some people would.
What’s also strange is the “sollten” which is not directly expressed by the english sentence. I would use “können” there. Well, actually, “something to talk about” is not clear whether it is “can” or “should”.
Maybe avoid it altogether and say something a little closer to the original:
Es sollte dort etwas für uns zu besprechen geben.
I rarely see “über das”. Wouldn’t “darüber” be a more common and natural way of saying that?
In this sentence it should rather be “worüber”, because it is a relative clause.
It’s also the reason why “über das” works here.
