…but to be lame does imply slowness of movement… shifting from one language to another isn’t always about strict translation… interpretation plays its part

“Lahm” is often used to denote slow (in additon to “lame”). For example, the idiom “slow-coach” in German is “lahme Schnecke” not “langsame Kutsche”.
