I have trouble remembering this word but it’s similar to “Gurken” so I picture the scoundrels as a bunch of animated pickle characters and it reliably helps me remember it.

There’s a Star Wars video game where, in the German version, Han Solo is constantly referred to as “ein Schurke”, which I had to look up to understand. So now, whenever I see the word “Schurke” in German, I think of Han Solo and the definition comes back to me
