Complete bull that this is the one compound noun in the entire language that has a hyphen in it? rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz is absoutely fine but we have to put some emphasis inbetween lieblings and trainer?

Der Bindestrich kann zur Hervorhebung oder Verdeutlichung einzelner Bestandteile in Zusammensetzungen und Ableitungen verwendet werden, die normalerweise in einem Wort geschrieben werden
So the hyphen can be used to stress certain parts of a compound word. The page lists some cases where the hyphen is mandatory, but I think ‘Lieblings-Fußballtrainer’ is not one of them. I think ‘Lieblingsfußballtrainer’ wouldn’t be incorrect.
