What exactly does “aufgeschlossen” mean in this context?
“aufgeschlossen” normally means “open minded”, i.e. not immediately rejecting before even taking a look.
I think it doesn’t really fit the meaning of “fond of”.
I would simply translate it as “Er mag Klatsch.”
Maybe something like “Er ist von Klatsch sehr angetan” also works.
