English Translation
He’d never let me drive his car.
This looks like the wrong tense in German given the suggested English translation, but it depends on what clozemaster means with “he’d”:
Er würde mich nie seinen Wagen fahren = He would never let me drive his car (this is what I’d expect here)
Er hatte mich nie seinen Wagen fahren lassen = He had never let me drive his car (this could work, but I don’t think that is a likely thing to say in English)
Maybe it’s a typo, and clozemaster is simply missing an umlaut?
Er hätte mich nie seinen Wagen fahren lassen = He would never have let me drive his car (But this still doesn’t match the English translation)
