English Translation
He bought her some chocolates.
Isn’t there word for Praline in english? I think so.
He bought her some chocolates.
Isn’t there word for Praline in english? I think so.
Maybe borrowed from French: praliné, pronounced as pralinay?
But then, dict.cc does not list it as a translation for German Praline:
Praline | Übersetzung Englisch-Deutsch
Interestingly, on tatoeba the Russian translation uses конфет, i.e. “konfet”. There exists also the word “Konfekt” in German, and apparently “confections” in English. Although I don’t think I have ever actually come across it.
But “Pralinen” is the usual German word for a box of small filled chocolate pieces.
I guess the plural in the English sentence is enough of a disambiguation here?
