‘Menettää’ means ‘to lose’ so a better translation might be ‘I never lost hope’.
Out of curiosity, what was the original translation? It got lost because you posted after correcting it on your end; please take that into account in future.

Quoting from memory, I think the original translation was ‘I never gave up hope’.
They are, but your local translation is what ends up as “English Translation” in the posting; the Forum doesn’t fetch anything from the corpus.
Ah, okay. Then all I need to do is submit my comment to the forum before making any changes to the translation. I will try to make a habit of that.
