‘Bränns’ is passive so shouldn’t the translation be ‘fire is burning’?
“Eld bränns” means that fire gives you a burning sensation. The verb form is actually deponens; you can find other examples of this by searching this forum.

Wow, never heard of ‘deponens’. And I thought Swedist grammar was simple.
