"Ecquid in antiquam virtutem animosque viriles / et pater Aeneas et avunculus excitat Hector?"

The translation given is “Doth the name / of sire or uncle make his young heart glow / for deeds of valour and ancestral fame?”

I was expecting it to contain the proper names in the Latin version and all the other versions listed on Tatoeba.

Does anyone know why it doesn’t?

English Translation

“Doth the name / of sire or uncle make his young heart glow / for deeds of valour and ancestral fame?”

It’s a very loose translation, by Dryden. A devilish challenge.
