Is it really true that “casino” has the same double meaning that “mess” has in English?

I’m not sure what the double meaning of “mess” in English would be.
The current Italian/English combination just means things are all over the place / unorganised / scattered everywhere / …

Not sure of any double meaning, I can only think of Eton Mess, the pudding 
(“In che casino sono!” - what a mess I’m in). Also in a song by Amy Winehouse, “Love is a losing game” - “Oh che casino abbiamo combinato!” (“oh what a mess we made”).

To explain my question:
A “mess” in English can be something like “trouble” or a place to eat e.g. in military language like officer’s mess.
I thought that a “casino” in Italian is also a place to eat, so I was surprised by the same double usage.

Ah I see what you mean now. So “casino” is a “mess”, muddle etc. and I think an officers’ mess is “una mensa” (a canteen, a mess or a refectory).
