“He is spare in words”. I looked up “parco” and could not find anything remotely related to “spare”. Is this a slang?

It does seem to mean “sparse”, “frugal”, etc. They all seem to mention the “he’s a man of few words” type of examples here too:

Thanks! I just found “frugal” for “parco” . And thanks again for your reply! I think going forward I will make Treccani my best friend. Better sooner than later!
