Du warst hinreißend.

Here, hinreißend is translated as “charming” but “charming” seems a bit more toned-down of a word than hinreißend. I’ve seen that word translated as “ravishing”, “entrancing”, or “enchanting”. Like to me it seems to have the connotation of someone who looks really good in a sort of attention-getting kind of way, and is probably dressed up in a kinda fancy outfit, whereas “charming” seems to connote personality more and be a bit less over-the-top in connotation, if that makes sense?
