You have been missing all these years.
So, how would you say, You have missed all these years (ie you have been away for a long time)?
Tricky one, since the words are close between the languages but not quite. I think that the translation (assuming English->German) misses the point, pun intended.
Du vermisst all die Jahre. (You are missing all those years [when you were young etc.])
Du hast all die Jahre verpasst. (You missed out on all those years [because you were working and forgot to live]).
Du wurdest all die Jahre vermisst. (You were missing [AWOL] all those years.)
The odd thing with the sentence is Du hast all die Jahre vermisst is its past tense. It implies that it no longer is the case, and I can’t think of a semantically sound construction for such a sentence. Maybe: Du hast all die Jahre vermisst, in denen Du noch ein Kind warst. (You were missing those days when you still were a child).
