Is this about driving? The Italian translation sounds very competitive.

Driving is the most likely context. “Superare” could also refer to passing an obstacle or a landmark, but in this case asking “dove” would not make sense.
In the sense of “to overtake” you can replace “superare” with “sorpassare”.
