Can ‘siegesgewiss’ really mean ‘flushed with victory’? There’s no sentence source but I wonder if it’s been translated the other way.
This is odd. If you are siegesgewiss, you are 100% sure that you will win - in the future. How can you come back from a competition and not know yet?

The German sentence should probably use Siegesrausch as translation to flushed with victory.
Die Mannschaft kehrte im Siegesrausch zurück.
