Why isn’t deadline capitalized here?
Because it’s clumsy German. Even if capitalized, it still feels wrong, because there’s an article missing:
Die Aufgabe hat eine Deadline am Dienstag.
But I would just avoid this anglicism:
Die Aufgabe ist am Dienstag fällig.
Even the english sentence didn’t use the word “deadline”, and “fällig” is a better match for “due”.
