This sentence translates “desk” with “bänk”. Is this correct? I know only “bord” and “skrivbord” thus far.
It’s probably short for “skolbänk”; in older times the pupil’s chair and desk were integrated in one piece of furniture.
Besides that, “sitter” sounds off to me; “ligger” or “står” would be much more common. The choice of verb depends on how the object is physically placed.
