Are “läskig” and “skrämmande” synonymous, or are there differences that aren’t negligible?
“Läskig” is what you would say about a horror movie. “Skrämmande” is what you would say about a real threat.

And “skrämmande” is used whenever I could alternatively say “threatening”? For example, when I was walking in the park and suddenly that big dog came running towards me before its owner called it back?
