I note the use of the English word “safe” rather than say “Tresor”. Is this an indication of the proliferation of “Denglsh” spoken by native Germans?
I’d say both are equally common, and it doesn’t feel like a “pollution” to me. The days when it was a new loanword must be long over. On the contrary, “Tresor” feels a little more traditional, but is far from obsolete.
