Ci salirò sopra.

English Translation

I’ll get on it.

Does this have the same idiomatic meaning as in English?

No. If you want to convey that, you can use “Me ne occupo/occuperò io”, or “Ci penso io”.

Oh, lucky I asked; I’ve been assuming for over a year that it was idiomatic.

The closest expression I can think of is “Mi ci metto” (Literally “I’ll put myself in it”):

  • “Devi finire i compiti!” (you have to finish your homework!)
  • “Ok, mi ci metto subito.” (Ok, I am on it.)
