Bando alle ciance!

English Translation

No more chatting!

I didn’t have a clue on this one.
Bando a = ban, prohibit, forbid
Ciancia = tittle-tattle, chatter, gossip

For the whole, WordReference suggests “cut the cackle!”

I’ve just recently heard this expression twice: on Coffee Break Italian and also on the podcast “Pensieri e Parole.”

It’s taken from Florentine slang. It’s kind of like a friendly “Basta” and means “OK…let’s stop the chat and move on to the next thing.” So basically “OK, enough with the chat”.

And I’m not 100% sure, but I think the response is “Inizio alle danze”
