English Translation
In the past, I didn’t know the usefulness of eternity. But now, I realize that at least it gives us an opportunity to learn german.
Another (loose) translation of a quotation from Mark Twain deriding the German language -
“Never knew before what eternity was made for. It is to give some of us a chance to learn German.”
(On Tatoeba the root translation is the exact English quotation from Mark Twain, but this French version is the result of a chain of several translations of translations).
