I don’t understand the inflection of ‘politisch’ here, unless it’s an adverb, but both the grammar aid and the AI say it’s an adjetive.

The original sentence is definitely correct.
I tried to look up the reason for it on several sites but could not find the reason/explanation.
I think you’re right though, that it is used like an adverb here. My guess would be it’s because the noun “Gute” is original an adjective “gut” and “politisch” describes the adjective “gut”. If it’s used as an adjective it also has this form. E.g. “Er handelt politisch gut.” So it seems to have something to do with the nomification of an adjective.
Interestingly enough, this does not seem to occur with nouns of -heit, -keit etc.
It would be “die politische Unsicherheit”, despite “Die Situation ist politisch unsicher.”
I’m not sure about the rules behind it.
