I have no problem with either sentence, Italian or English. I really want to have a literal translation here of the Italian sentence which I attempt to be “You are helped (if or when ) the haven helps you”.( Doubt if it is the exact translation). I have found another sentence “Aiutati che Dio t’aiuta”. What I would like to ask about the literal translation (only) where the part of “help themselves” in that sentence would be. ( If it is indeed there).
My way of saying it is “Aiutati che Dio ti aiuta”. I’m wondering if a literal translation is possible here as every translator gives me the same answer. “Aiutano se stessi” is how I would say “they help themselves”. Happy to be corrected as always.
