A change in learning style🙂

After nearly 1800 happy days of doing the “Hard” option, I played with the “Easy” option for a while just to take a break from fiddly tablet typing. Now I’m hooked because I have more time to Listen and more time to repeat the phrases out loud without looking at my keyboard for delete or correction keys. It’s a whole new ball game, thoroughly worthwhile!

I think the typing itself is a major waste of time when it comes to actually learning the language. It’s mostly just a way for the computer to test you.

There’s a familiarity with input methods etc. that you get from typing and is good to have, but once you’re past that, I think it’s perfectly ok to play in easy, or to play hard but alt+p through everything.

That’s what I do; I try to spell the answer out in my mind before revealing the choices. Raw multiple choice is way too easy, unless you’re an absolute beginner.

I now tend to chose to type when I’m at my PC and I go multiple choice on my phone. How many sentences do you do a day? A set number or just until you’ve had enough?

Hi @Station2Station. As long as I hit my 500 goal for Italian from English and 200 vice versa I’m happy but since I’ve changed to Easy mode I’m perhaps doing more on I from E. My listening has improved a lot because I’m not concentrating on typing and saying the sentence out loud instead. In our current heatwave I sit outside and make the most of Offline mode so that adds more. I do Cloze whenever I’m at a loose end, read and speak quite a lot every day so it becomes second nature. I also read a lot of beautiful Italian books. And you?Come va?

500+200 sentences per day? Wow, that is dedication!

Oops, I misread your Q - it’s the heat here, not thinking straight. 500 and 200 are my points targets. Not sure how many sentences I do but enough to reach both my goals.

I started with multiple choice, but now my vocabulary has improved (yippee, at last!) I’ve switched largely to typing, but only when at my PC. Can’t type on my phone!
Ma devo parlare ad alta voce ancora di più. That’s where I’m weakest. Cooler today, but still glorious weather! A presto i miei amici
